The Iowa Insurance Division conducts routine financial and market conduct examinations of insurance companies that are domiciled in Iowa. After the examination, a report is issued. (Even though insurance companies that are domiciled in other states do business in Iowa, the Iowa Insurance Division has reciprocity agreements with the other states that allows acceptance of the other states’ examinations of the insurance companies that are domiciled in their states. Occasionally the Iowa Insurance Division will conduct a focused examination related to a particular issue involving an insurance company domiciled in another state.)
