WeaverDes Moines - Billi Jo Weaver, age 53, of Altoona was recently charged with two counts of Insurance Fraud - Presenting False Information (Class D Felony), one count of Fraudulent Practices (Class D Felony), and one count of Identity Theft (Class C Felony) following an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau.

The charges against Weaver stem from an investigation that began in August 2018. It is alleged that Weaver made false statements on an application for insurance coverage and then submitted a fraudulent insurance claim to her insurance company seeking insurance proceeds for which she was not entitled. It is also alleged that she used the identifying information of another person with the intent to obtain credit and property.

On October 17, 2019, an arrest warrant was issued for Weaver. On October 24, 2019, she was arrested by the Altoona Police Department and booked into the Jasper County Jail. On October 29, 2019, she was released from the Jasper County Jail and extradited to the Polk County Jail where she is currently in custody on a $10,000 bond.
