When a retirement facility (continuing care retirement community and senior adult congregate living facility) requires payment of an entrance fee prior to moving into the facility, they are required to register annually with the Iowa Insurance Division.
To initially register, email the Retirement Facilities Filing Form to email@example.com. An email will be sent with a PIN letter and instructions to complete the registration process.
To renew your registration, complete the Retirement Facilities Filing Form and follow the Registration Filing Instructions.
Retirement facilities must comply with the requirements in Iowa Code Chapter 523D and Iowa Administrative Code chapter 191-102. The requirements include distribution of a disclosure statement to prospective residents and a contract providing required disclosure items.
