Des Moines - Jessica A. Hartwig, age 26, of Cedar Rapids was charged today with two counts of Fraudulent Submissions to an Insurer (Class D Felony), one count of Fraudulent Practices - 2nd degree (Class D Felony), and one count of Tampering with Records (Aggravated Misdemeanor) following an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau.

The charges against Hartwig stem from an investigation which began in May of 2019.  It is alleged Hartwig supplied falsified public documents to an insurer in order to obtain insurance benefits she would otherwise not be entitled to receive.
 

Hartwig was arrested today and booked into the Linn County Jail.  Hartwig remains in the custody of the Linn County Correctional Center on a $15,000 bond.  Trial will be set for a future date. No further details will be provided at this time.
