Des Moines, Iowa – Christopher Lowell Childers, age 54, an insurance agent in Windsor Heights, Iowa, has been charged with one count of Fraudulent Sales Practices (Class D Felony), two counts of Forgery (Class D Felonies), and one count of Fraudulent Practices (Class C Felony) following an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau.

The charges against Childers stem from an investigation that began in August 2019. According to criminal complaints filed by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau, it is alleged that Childers knowingly and unlawfully altered the date on documents facilitating the transfer of funds without the owner’s permission to do so.  It is also alleged that Childers manufactured a document that contained information about assets which Childers knew did not exist as presented on the document.

On February 7, 2020, Childers was booked into the Polk County Jail and was later released.
