Des Moines - Sang Nguyen, age 47, of Des Moines, was recently charged with one count of Insurance Fraud - Presenting False Information (Class D Felony) and one count of Application Fraud (Class D Felony) following an insurance fraud investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau.
The charges against Nguyen stem from an investigation that began in May of 2022. In criminal complaints filed by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau, it is alleged that in July of 2021, Nguyen made material misrepresentations to his insurer when applying for insurance coverage as well as when he submitted the insurance claim.
On July 20, 2022, Nguyen was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail. Later the same day Nguyen was released after posting a $10,000 bond with a trial being set for a future date. No additional information will be provided at this time.
