Des Moines - Following an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau, a Jasper County man and woman have been charged with insurance fraud.
Jarod Hribar, age 44, and Latisha Hribar, age 42, of Kellogg, Iowa, were each charged with one count of Insurance Fraud - Presenting False Information (Class D Felony), one count of Fraudulent Practice in the 1st degree (Class C Felony), and one count of Theft in the 1st degree (Class C Felony).
The charges against the Hribars stem from an investigation that began in August of 2022. According to criminal complaints filed by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau, the Hribars provided false statements and fraudulent documents to an insurer in connection with an insurance claim. The Hribars received $39,330 in insurance benefits due to these false statements.
On October 5th, 2022, the Hribars were arrested and booked into the Jasper County Jail. They each posted a $15,000 bond and were released.
